Kuno

The Kuno designs are symbolic of ShiRyuDoh.
With “kuno” meaning “ancient” in Indonesian, these designs are representative of Ron’s journey to Bali where he began his craft as a tattoo artist. They were also the first designs he used when he opened the studio in Tokyo.
Inspired by his studies in archaeology and the diverse cultures he encountered during his travels, Ron created the “Kuno” designs entirely from scratch - at a time when line work tattoos were not yet widely popular.
These designs represent the origin of our shop and will remain a lasting symbol of our identity.
